I've heard rumors that people don't like the K&N filter, which is a bummer because they're reusable.

LOL not quite, just surprised that there are zero options other than the Kawi pads.

There is, right coast off-road has EBC and tusk also makes them. As far as air filter goes I stick to factory. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

Ahh, didn't see the EBCs. Unfortunately, only the fronts, but at least that makes it a $250 brake job rather than $400 with all-kawi lol

Brake jobs are super easy on these machines. It’ll cost you the brake pads and your time. Everything I have got quoted at the dealer was so extravagant it made me question if they even had experience working there.

Suspension adjustments $250
Mount tires 59.99 each 24.99 if you take them in. What?!

Sorry, miscommunication there. I do all my work, pretty much all the time. If it can be done in a tiny apartment garage, I do it. What I really mean is $400+ for the Kawi pads alone. Ain't gonna happen.

Back to the air filter question...i run the stock one here in AZ. I was told by the dealer to not use the K&N as they have had several 1000's come in with bad motors due to the K&N filter.
I use the stock one with an oiled frog skin over it. And I clean after every ride.

That's a good idea. Do you have a link to the sock? I think I'm going to need to start blowing it out every ride now that I've got a compressor. Not like it takes any time to pull the filter.

Sorry, don't have a link. I forgot who I ordered from, but it wasn't make for the KRX. I found the closest size and cut the top so it fits. Works great...

Going to add S&B particle separator very soon
Have one on my rzr.
prolongs any filter drastically
Better air flow to engine in future for upgrade for supercharger etc.

I have turbo s works great

before everyride filter full
Of dust. Sometimes I go every other check and it doesn’t have 1/4 of what used to checking every time without.
again also increases air flow
