Quick question. I just bought a Trinity Slip on exhaust but do not have an ECU flash yet. Will it hurt the engine if I put the aftermarket exhaust on before I tune it?

plan on getting the Alba ECU in the future just haven’t dished it the extra money yet.

No it won’t hurt the engine, and rethink the tune from Alba. Lots of problems with their tune. You’re better off with a tune from V-force John. Search the forum.

V-force John all the way. Haven’t done mine yet, but after reading all the threads about tunes you will come to the conclusion that most people have problems with the other manufacturers tunes. I will be sending mine out to John shortly!!

Can you run this exhaust without the tune and avoid backfiring issues or is that a risk of running it without a tune? Seems like someone was having major backfiring issues with a slip on exhaust but Im thinking that was a different manufacturer?

I have the trinity and I do have some backfiring. It only happens occasionally on deceleration. I think its more of a symptom of having no cat rather than the muffler its self.

Quick update, I installed the trinity slip on exhaust. LOVE IT! I ran it without the quite core and spark arrester for the first part of the ride this weekend. I liked it but the wife and fellow riders not so much. So, at our first stop I put them quite core and arrester in and to be honest it is awesome. It has the deep throaty sound at an idle. When you put the throttle down you know it is there but not obnoxious. I come from the ol' Honda 400EX hare scramble days with a Wright Brothers pipe so I appreciate a good sounding machine. My ECU is getting sent to VFJohn this afternoon. I will let you know how everything works together. I have a feeling I wont be disappointed.

Side note, I ride in Ohio and all our snow melted and everything was a muddy mess. First time testing out the fender flares from UTV Direct. GAME CHANGER! I stayed clean inside the cab while my buddy, who also has a KRX without the fender flare, looked like swamp thing at the end of the day.

Hi any more feedback on your exhaust and tune. Just got my KRX yesterday and ready to do my first mods. John is getting my ECU soon!
How does exhaust sound? Any backfire?

I have had no backfire issues. Maybe a small pop when coasting down a hill. I love the sound of mine. I have the quite core and spark arrester in it. Nice deep sound but you know it’s there when you give it full throttle. Very happy with mine.
