Load rating means very little on an offroad tire. It's the load a tire can handle at max psi and max speed rating for a sustained amount of time. It's also completely worthless without being listed like it is for the BFG above.

 

Thank you Bob, a lot of people do not know what they are looking at when they are shopping tires. Hopefully they will look deeper into the specs!

I‘m new as an official forum member but have been lurking for some time. I upgraded to 33x9.50x15 System 3 rt 320 tires. I weighed them on our bathroom scale and they came in at 41.6 lbs vs the 31” stock Carnivore at 34.2 lbs. They are 32.25” tall at 10psi on the machine With OEM wheels. I will have to check with higher pressure... at 10psi they are definitely bulged at the bottom and loosing some height. Performance wise, I really can’t feel any decrease in performance due to slightly higher weight and bigger diameter. We road in Green River Utah desert with a mix of sand, loose dirt and some rock crawling and they did great as far as I’m concerned. With that said, the stock Carivores were also good in those conditions.
Just thought I’d share if anyone is considering these tires. I can post pictures if anyone is interested, I’ll just have to figure out first 😀

So finally mounted the KM3 i had sitting here for awhile before my last trip didnt like the looks of them mounted compared to the carnivore meaty squared look but thats where the difference ends extremely satisfied with performance they are extremely sticky crawling, high speed cornering they stay in what ever groove you point it at no under over steer, so anybody wanting a desert mountain crawling tire for the price couldnt be happier with them.

 

I will say the KM3 on the east coast is one of the worst tires I've saw. Wet or water/mud rocks spin bad and pack easy here and don't steer. Out west they look to do excellent.

 

Xtr370, 33" for the win. love em.

 

How do they wear definitely cost more but do look good.

 

Like Em Alot can air em down or up for needs and hang tough for all. But tires are like women all personal preference. 😊

I'd love to try that on the LT tires. Seriously, just to see. Because around here they do anything the XTR 370's do. I guess that means we don't have much challenging stuff!!! LOL. The KRX is such a capable machine, I just drive it different when on different tires, and it just does it. For sure climbing 45 degrees up a creek bank, either tire works. Done it multiple times. The long wheelbase of the KRX really helps you get over the hump.

Rock crawling I'm sure it would matter more which tire. We just don't do that here. You can, but I don't go to those places.

They actually measure 33.6“if you put 30 psi in and measure front to back using a carpenter square and make marks on the ground. At useable pressures, measuring top down like normal people measure tires they’re about 32.4”

Load rating is 965 pounds, 8 ply rated

ITP says they’re 46 pounds, my scale says 44.

Mine are on 15x6” rims, they definitely have a tall/skinny look. The tread is pretty narrow too so wider wheels won’t change that much.

I think 33s are a good option, no regrets about this purchase at all.
