Check both from axles and drive shaft.. if there good then try to pin point if its at the front diff or transfer case.. have spotted a posting of a failed u joint but one would think a broken axle is more common..

Is it possible that your drive shaft is out of time.. meaning both front and rear u joints are in same position ? also have you checked if anything is rubbing on the driveshaft? next a torsional vibration can come and go if the drive line and diffs are out of pitch.. this takes a protractor to check the angle of each drive component...
