We had 58 degrees yesterday. However, we did have to dodge airplane parts falling out of the sky.....
There were fairly large pieces scattered all over. Five pieces landed on a soccer field with kids out there playing.
The big front engine cowl landed right on top of the pickup and crushed the cab in. It was from a United Airlines 777 that had just departed from DIA on it's way to Honolulu. It's a big engine. Tough start to a trip...

Dude, that movie freaked me out when I first saw it. To this day I look for pried up panels on the wing when I get on a plane!!

Statistically still safer than driving down to the local convince store. The accidents just occur in spectacular big batches. If you consider the explosive energy of the failure, the design worked perfectly. Had a RJ (Embraer 145 IIRC) out of DIA abort on take off roll twice a few years back, then get called back after deice cuz take off minimums. Half the passengers chose to leave the flight. I must have logged more taxi way miles than flying miles that day. Talked to a bud that flew them and he's like "oh, it's probably just that thrust reverser warning software glitch. "

No, not my truck. That flight did take off right over my house, but this happened one or two minutes after it would have passed over my place. (roughly 20 miles away from here)

Now we have some snow here. Woke up to 10" on the ground this morning. Glad I got the atv and plow all prepared last night. ⛄
