Hi all,
We just graduated from a Honda Pioneer 1000-5 to the 2021 KRX Trail Edition, so anxious to dig into some more advanced trails this year. Don't get me wrong, the Pioneer is a billy goat and will do just about anything with the right mods. But as our riding friends (Razrs, Wolverines) got more adventurous in the Appalachian mountains we found ourselves a bit of a weeble wobble in off-camber situations and were holding the group up as we winched through tough spots. Must admit though, there was a sense of accomplishment when we got down from the mountain and there was that "You did that in a Pioneer???" reaction.
But here we are, stepping up our game. Impressed with the beefed up KRX ready to hit the trails right out of the gate. Reading through the forum and learning a lot about our new machine, excited to see what all you guys have done to and accomplished with your KRXs.
See you out on the trails!

Welcome to the forum Sm0ke .
Your story sounds like mine. My first SXS was a 2015 Mule Pro LE. I took it up a lot of difficult mountain trails in New Mexico. It never missed a beat in five years of hard trail riding and took us places that it was probably not designed to. I can't wait to put my KRX through its paces on the same trails.

Hello welcome. I'm from Indiana my self, more east central though. But do most of my riding in an around the Appalachian mountains.
Hi 👋 We`very been hooked riding around Pioneer, TN... Tackett Creek and the surrounding area. Unfortunately it's getting crowded there, camping spots are hard to come by already this Spring when previous years there was no issue. Getting popular, time to branch out and find some uncharted territory in those mountains this year. We love it out there though, just amazing riding for days and days.
May run into you in the mountains...

Yes we've unloaded at that exit an rode several times, we usually go on down to rocky top an find a trail an soot up the mountain there. Don't much care for going through windrock's gate, to crowded we buy our passes at the gas station an just go. We are actually headed down to the brimstone area this weekend

Welcome! Anxious to hear about your thoughts after some seat time. I am/was inn the same situation. Had a Pioneer 1000-5 LE sold for a Talon R, which I am putting up for sale this week for a KRX.

coming from the Pioneer, what made you choose the KRX vs others?

Hi @NFA Fun - Oh, the journey we all take to find the right machine... we started out Pioneer for many reasons you are probably familiar with (Honda reliability, dual clutch transmission, versatility, etc.). Then as we got comfortable on the trails and wanted more challenge we quickly realized we needed a more capable machine. We actually originally thought we'd go Talon, but the KRX drew our attention as a highly capable machine straight from the factory. Really no need for aftermarket parts to be awesome off-road, and built like a tank. My husband really liked the over-built nature of this beast, and the space in the cab behind the seats is an added bonus. While the dual clutch transmission would be neat, repairs would be costly. The KRX has superior suspension geometry, no track scrub.
Took her out for an easy final break-in ride today... going to change all of the fluids and see what she can really do this next week. So far we`we are tickled to have gone KRX (y)

Oh, and I named her Greenie
