What is the best way to set up a GPS system without breaking the bank. I do have a apple I pad I can use but some places we ride have no cell reception at times. I wanted to have full GPS capability.
I believe most samsung tablets have standalone gps that require no cell reception. I run lifetime trail maps on mine but there are certainly cheaper options. I think Bob T’s maps is one if I’m not mistaken. What is the best way to set up a GPS system without breaking the bank. I talked to a fellow UTV guy a couple weeks ago and told me about : FOREST MAPS 2. It cost $2.99 for you iPhone. It is absolutely the best GPS I've ever owned. Download your map (s) for riding. It works WITHOUT CELL Data. What is the best way to set up a GPS system without breaking the bank. I do have a apple I pad I can use but some places we ride have no cell reception at times. I moved my Samsung A7 8.7 Lite table from the cubby to the front upper roll bar. Got two 6" SS 10/24 all thread at ACE and formed it into U bolts. And yes, a later found the missing SS nyloc nut and installed it. Put a two port USB in the cigarette lighter for power to the tablet. I have Gaia running on it. I have OnX also, however like Gaia better.
I have a question however after my second ride today, that is how to stop all the dust that collected on the instrument display????

I just carry a small microfiber cloth to wipe the screen off while on the trails. Then when I get home I just use compressed air to blow all the dust off of it.I have a question however after my second ride today, that is how to stop all the dust that collected on the instrument display????
That and a cordless Dewalt leafblower back at home base or camp. Each person and car gets dusted off because......wives. Sometimes the blower just comes along for the ride if super dusty.I just carry a small microfiber cloth to wipe the screen off while on the trails.
