Does anyone know how to access electrical hookup under dash besides the bar that is controlled by the key ? I want to add an additional 12v outlet and usb port that is on constantly. The existing outlet turns off with the key. My GPS has to reboot every time I turn off the key. I could run wires to the battery, but access is limited by dust protection cover.

I have an outlet with two USB ports and a 12v outlet, but I'm looking for an electrical source under the dash that does not turn off with the key

There is a conduit that runs from the front of the vehicle to the battery area. I ended up running some heavy gauge wire from the battery to a new distribution block by the ignition switched power block. Now I have a quick point to mount non switched accessories.

I’ve already taken apart my whole dash and center console to run a bunch of wiring. What I can tell you is if you want a direct power source, run it straight from the battery and avoid splicing into the vehicle harnesses. The nice thing is the center console is 3 pieces so the center portion can be removed only so you could run your wiring. Couple screws in the cup holders and clips on the sides, I think there’s 2 more screws right above. While you’re in there, wrap the coolant lines with some High quality insulation helps with the cab heat. My .02 cents.
