Hello All,

The driver door on my wifes KRX has got a ton of up/down play in the driver door hinge. With the door open, you can gently lift up and down and I bet there is close to an inch of play. Wife says it was that way when we bought it and it rattles like hell. Passenger side not as bad. Friend of ours with one just like ours has like zero play in either door and no rattle. How hard is it to remove the doors and get to the hinge bushings?

Thanks

Well, last night I took the door apart and got a good look at the hinges/bushings. The issue was, the shoulder of the bushing had raised out of the hinge bracket so it didn't "bush" anything and left slop. There is too much up and down slop in the hinges that can leave room for the bushing shoulder to pop out. I found a couple of plastic washers and cut a little V notch out and raised the pin all the way up and inserted the washer in around the hinge pin to take up the slack. Door is tight. I'll probably have to re-address it down the road but for now it's at least as good as factory.

I had alot of play in the bushings in my door an I been looking for replacements, I searched several times on brute force performance website an couldn't find them, well my ol lady found this guy on facebook named bud shoemaker. $60 shipped does both doors. I installed them this morning. There not 100% tight but mine were really bad. I think either mine pin has a little wear or or the top holes in the bracket itself. But never the less it took about 90% of my play out.

I saw your post over on FB this morning. Just for future reference for anyone needing them, he sells them on eBay as well.

Take your pick. No offense to anyone here but i see A LOT of people just buying stuff without doing research. People are getting taken advantage of and it's really sad

There are so many predatory sales happening now in the off-road world because you have so many NEW people coming into it that have no clue. I am not calling anyone stupid but I am saying people are getting caught up in the moment and listening to bad advise and buying whatever people tell them they need! Its all over this forum and other forums that I am on... It really is sad

Do you have a link to size and type? I am unaware of which ones actually would work.

I have yet to see somebody post which ones from Mcmaster-carr would work. If you can stand the criticism, the ones I bought an used work fine. Right coast offroad actually done a video on the exact same ones I bought from bud shoemaker.

Jake has these in stock. I ordered a set. My doors have at least a half inch of free play.

Those look alot like what I purchased. It helped mine alot. There is still a tad bit of play but I believe the actual hinges on mine are wore as well
