Interior drainage stinks but I didn’t realize how bad the drainage under the floors are. The factory skid plates hold a lot of debris. I pulled the ones under the floorboards and they had in inch of heavy muddy clay built up. The weight was remarkable... with everyone complaining about spring sag it concerns me. With those bottom skids off I was able to evacuate the interior floorboards’ junk.

This is clearly a West Coast arid climate design. I never worry about getting all the mud out as it will just happen again. But this is too much to be acceptable. I googled and didn’t find where people have added drain holes to the skid plates. Any thoughts?

No, not yet. Not wanting to spend the money and truthfully hope they never rub hard enough to matter. No rock crawling for me.

I’m not being picky. It’s common to get an inch or so of mud in the floorboards. That’s enough to stop up the factory drains. Pulling the lower skid plates enables you to pull down under the floorboard drain to get the crap out. Seems ridiculous to do that every time we ride.
