The dead pedal left of the brake pedal. When I sit in the KRX, I noticed that the dead pedal is a bit too much forward the driver seat. Not level with other pedals. Wondering if you have a way to change this by modify or ? Cut it out? Is there something inside the dead pedal?

I’d have to agree with you. I’ll have to double check to see if it’s removable. That would be super nice.

Wow, awesome! Is that another layer of plastic or metal underneath where the dead pedal was? I'm sure that made a huge difference for leg room. Did you cut out the one on the passenger side also?

It is the metal base, that you can see from the underside. I have not cut anything yet, just removed for my project. Here is a picture of the plastic floor pan thingy itself, looking at if from the left sill side. One can see that the plastic is thicker under the dead pedal itself, but a few inches of leg room are to be had if one does some trimming.

I am working on insulating these hoses to lessen the cooking that occurs inside on long rides. Going with 1 1/2 armaflex tubing insulation which is good up to 220 degrees.

Now, I could be able to gain the leg room. In my old Teryx LE, the dead pedal forced me to rest my left foot under the brake pedal for comfort.
I'll see if I can remove this stupid dead pedal. BUT KRX is not here yet.

Well......not quite happy with the result. I cut the dead pedal out, and it looks kinda janky to me. I will probably fab up a piece to fill the hole. View attachment 2426

I was pleased with how the coolant line insulating project turned out.

Can you let us know if this made a big difference. Myself and @BigParm live in the desert where it really will help out.

I do like the rubber floor mat idea, especially if they are thick mats that would insulate the floors quite a bit.

I will let yall know the difference in the heat in the cab after I put in the armaflex. I dont think the floor/dead pedal makes as much difference as the heat pouring up out of the shifter gate once she gets hot. Hopefully now that the air in that cavity is no longer being heated, it should be much cooler inside. I live on the east coast and hope to have my Brick City Fab roll cage show up tomorrow so I can get her back out on the trails.

I believe they used exhaust wrap and the Cool it Thermotec heat suppressor. I used Armaflex on the lines themselves, and then Cool It Thermotec Heat and Sound Suppressor on the interior of the panels as well. The insulation value of Armaflex should be much more than the exhaust wrap. I use exhaust wrap a lot for endurance race cars and it is good with higher temps, but does not have the insulating properties of a closed cell foam product. The true test will come if I can go out on a ride when its 50 degrees out and not have to strip down to shorts and a t-shirt to keep from sweating.

It looks like nice stuff built for a home. But I don’t see any properties listing heat dissipation. Hopefully it does the job!
