Brand new machine with 20 miles. Started it yesterday and heard a loud clicking noise when I backed out. All gears and I tried everything to see if it would go away. Headed to the dealer and they said they have never heard the sound before. Turns out that it was a snap ring that came off the shaft that holds a clutch weight. The hardend shaft started to back itself out and was contacting the cage when it was spinning. Some small nicks in the cage but now its fixed correctly. The bad snap ring was oblonged. Not sure is it was a rushed assembly or what but they informed Kawasaki about the incident.
Hope this does not happen to someone on the trail. This could have been a much worse outcome. Something to check for sure!
